In honour of all the overlooked and unrecorded female mapmakers, we present the FIRST maps of Africa and the Americas signed by, and attributed to, a woman! Anne Seile published these maps in 1663, only a year after her husband Henry died. Remarkably for the period, Anne had Henry's maps reengraved to add her own name in place of his. #womenshistorymonth #antique #maps #internationalwomensday
